Portraits by Thérèse Le Prat

Thérèse Le Prat is a wonderful portrait photographer, who began in 1947 to specialize in theatrical portraits. These are some of my favourites.

Juliette Gréco as Anastasia in Marcelle Maurette's play of the same name, December 1957.

Thérese Le Prat's portrait of Elsa Wagner, in "Le château de Kafka", 1957. What a remarkable face!

Alberto Giacometti from 1960.

Roger Blin as Hamm in Samuel Beckett's "Fin de partie" (Endgame), 1957. Outstanding!

Raymond Queneau by Thérese Le Prat, March 1954.

Marcel Marceau in "Le Manteau", after Gogol, 1951.

Yves Montand in Arthur Miller's "Les Sorcières de Salem", 1955.

Jean Marais as Oedipus in Jean Cocteau's "La Machine Infernale", 1954.

Another portrait from Samuel Beckett's Endgame: Germaine de France as Nell, 1956.

André Maurois by Thérese Le Prat, 1961.

Maria Casarès by Thérese Le Prat, 1947.

Wolfram Mehring by Thérese Le Prat, 1961.

Sylvie Debrise by Thérese Le Prat, 1964.

Ernst-Otto Fuhrmann as the Pope in Bertold Brecht's "La vie de Galilée", 1957.
